William Wainwright

Kinetic sculpture

According to the sign on site, this sculpture celebrates Newton's discovery that white light (or sunlight) is made up of a whole range of colors. The diffraction grating on the metal causes the colors to spread out, as they do sometimes on soap bubbles or an oil slick.
