River bend site

The site for this museum is a bend in the Scioto River, a waterway that separates this area from downtown Columbus. This new building is built on the back of a 1920 Neoclassical structure that served as a high school. See plan.

This hangar-like structure for science exhibits is composed of 60 feet by 33 feet wide precast concrete panels, with stainless joints. The shape is technically a 1000 foot long "clothoid" curve, a lozenge-like shape.
