Wijnhaveneiland/ the Red Apple

This popularly-named Red Apple building is so called both for the red color of the facade (red anodized aluminum) and the history of the site, called apple point since apples were shipped from this port. This 40-storey (407 ft) residential skyscraper is on the narrow island called Wijnhaven. It has 121 units, a car park of several storeys, and about 80 additional apartments and offices in the adjoining Kopblok (the ground floor with shops and restaurants). The kopblok is a projecting wedge-shaped section of eight storeys.
