Taft Hotel

Front facade

Like the Kenmore Hotel and the Davis Hotel, this Art Deco hotel is a part of the Best Western complex.

Like the Kenmore, it has the characteristic Art Deco tripartite symmetrical design. However, this facade is even more embellished with a highly decorated entrance bay and with friezes extending across the top, around the portal and above the first story windows. Some of these bas reliefs have abstract zigzag designs while others are more curvilinear and semi-floral. Variations on engaged columns frame the corner of the structure, looking like vertical quoins.
