Helfaer Community Service Building

Edward Durell Stone
1973

This office and community center houses the Milwaukee Jewish Federation and Associated Agencies. The corten and granite sculpture (left image), entitled Holocaust Memorial (1983), is by Claire Lieberman.

Views of the front

The three-story building (see side and back below) is constructed of cream brick and concrete. An atrium lights the reception room.

Views of the side

Large recessed and mirrored windows are repeated along the side and back.

Views of the interior--the skylighted atrium

A tapestry designed by Marc Chagall occupies the north wall--right image. (Reflections inhibit clear viewing in my pictures.)
