Details of the central entrance

The name of the building is carved on the central arch above the portal and is designed in the terra cotta decoration at the very top of the entrance bay.
 
 

Pioneer Square Park Pergola

at the triangular corner of Yesler Way and First Avenue

A Victorian iron and glass pergola

this iron structure originally marked the entrance to public restrooms and serve aa shelter for those awaiting the cable cars. The public facility is closed today. The pergola is about 60 feet long and 16 feet high. The lighting fixtures are copies of the originals. A Tlingit totem pole is also at this site--not pictured.
