| This residence was comissioned by John Kerr Branch, Jr., a stockbroker and bank president in Richmond. Unlike Pope's Union Station or his National Gallery of Art in Washington, which employ a stately classicism, this residence uses the then popular style for the wealthy--the Tudor-Jacobean style. |
