This strange building, which more than anything seems to me to be a structure imported from the People's Republic of China, was designed by a London architect with aspirations to designing mythic buildings. The black and white zig zag designs, for example, allude to Mayan, Greek, Islamic, and other international symbols, while other aspects of the building suggest other mythic references--most of which escape the ordinary viewer. This four-story building, housing departments relating to math, statistics, and computer science, has a plan in the shape of an "H" and is aligned with the cloister of the Administration Building. |
