Exterior of star-shaped dome

This room was named after the noble family massacred here--at a banquet just before the fall of Granada

The extravagant domed "maqarnas" ceiling

The star-shaped dome has elaborate, decorative stalactites. The sixteen windows are decorated with fretwork. The dome of mocarabes rests on eight pendentives of mocarabes. The following quotation is written on the pendentives: "There is no other help than the help that comes from God, the clement and merciful One."

The archway is decorated with "lazo"--ornamental knots.

Above and this row: details of the Hall of Kings (or Hall of Justice)

This room is on the east side of the Lion Courtyard. Like the other rooms surrounding the courtyard, it is decorated with "mocárabes"--stalactities.
