The Montjuïc area is hilly; thus, the stadium grounds vary in elevation. The steep decline in the rear is evident in these photographs.

The enormous roof was constructed separately and lifted in one piece hydraulically onto the structure.
The metal wire sculpture on top of the posts by Aiko Miyawaki is entitled Utsuroski .
