A wall of undressed stone surrounds the whole park. There are seven entrances into the park but the main entrance (also the lowest point) is at Carrer d'Olot. The undulating top of the wall is covered with ceramic fragments. Sources speculate that while the rough stone would provide toeholds, the smooth top would make for difficult climbing for intruders. | |
| Medallions with "Park" or "Güell" punctuate the wall. The medallions introduce the viewer to the design motif of the park: the pictorial use of trencadis or broken ceramic and faience chips. |

| The main gate is flanked by two rubblework buildings which seem to grow out of the park's wall. Both have oval ground plans and tall central towers which serve as ventilator shafts. The original wooden gates have been replaced by a wrought iron section of wall from Casa Vicens. | ||
