Casa Marià Fuster i Fuster

Lluís Domènech i Montaner
1911
Passeig de Gràcia 132

This pink and white marble residence is at the top end of the Passeig de Gràcia. The design is assymetrical with an elaborate outer corner (the building is a backwards "L"); it would have been even more impressive had the corner dome been finished. The main entrance and carriage entrance is at the top of the backwards "L."

Left: view toward the corner; center and right: views of one side of the structure with the corner at the left

Note the Modernista variations of Ionic capitals.

See his earlier Casa Albert Lleó i Morera for additional examples of interesting fenestration and decorative stonework.
