This is one of the few houses designed by Wright in an historic style--English Tudor. Although in later years Wright disliked this house, it was widely copied. Tudor elements include the decorative (rather than structural) half-timbering, the steeply pitched roof and intersecting gables, the rambling, asymmetical plan, and the use of repeated balustrades.
