Stone Hill Center: North side and West End

Tadao Ando
2008

The terrace at the top of the slope

While the windowed wall in the courtyard frames a landscape view, here the second floor terrace provides panoramic views of the Taconic Range and Green Mountains. The terrace is an axial continuation of the exterior and interior entrance foyer--which bisects the long rectangular structure.

The west end

A porch is attached at this end; the window wall faces an exhibition gallery. Oddly, no pathway leads to this private space.
