Otto Bock Competency Centre Medical Technology

Gnädinger Architekten
2009

This building houses the offices and showrooms of the largest manufacturer of artificial limbs and other medical technologies in Germany. It is located near the Potsdamer Platz/Leipziger Platz area where the structures generally are huge amd follow a linear grid. This almost whimsical five-storey building in stark white stands out. Rainer Haubrich et al suggest that the ribbons of the facade stretch like muscles and sinews emulating organic growth and the clinical white suggests the artificial (321).
