Ugolino, 1860

Ugolino, an Italian count, is best known from Dante's depiction of of this damned soul in the Inferno. The horrific story/legend has given Ugolino the nickname "Cannibal Count," because at least one interpretation is that while he and his children were imprisoned and starving, Ugolino ate his children.
