Lincoln Theater

Thomas W. Lamb
1935
555 Lincoln

Designed originally as a movie house, the Lincoln Theater is today the home of the New World Symphony with Michael Tilson Thomas as its Founder and Artistic Director. While the interior was gutted and refurbished, the exterior still has its Art Deco and Moderne decoration.

The theater has continuous wide overhanging eyebrows which curve around the corner, pilasters topped with painted relief capitals, some fluted elements, a dramatic overhanging marquee, and bas-relief panels with foliate designs.
