Surfcomber Hotel

MacKay and Gibbs
1948
1717 Collins Avenue

Somewhat late in date for Art Deco, this is sometimes described as MiMo in style. Still it has a curved eyebrow at the top, echoed by a large curved canopy at the entrance. Verticality is emphasized by the central bay, the mullions and fenestration.
