Hotel as skyscraper

This twelve-story hotel is topped by a dramatic tower, partly faced with glass brick and with an extended finial uppermost. It seems less Art Deco, although designed by one of the prominent practitioners, than the smaller more decorated hotels. If the top were flattened, the frieze eliminated, and the tower truncated, it would be a typical modernist skyscraper.
