Like the Congress Hotel, the Colony has a dominant sign, which emphasizes the vertical dimension, even though this is only a three-story hotel. Verticality and horizontality are at odds since the sign is countered by joined ribbon windows on the side bays and continuous eyebrows, both dividing the facade into clear horizontal registers. Neon accents make this a remarkable nighttime sight. | ||
