Blubber, Toledo Museum of Art

Mark di Suvero
1970-80
painted steel and rubber

View in front of Frank Gehry's University of Toledo Art Building

This "architectural" sculpture, on a monumental scale, is constructed of metal beams (structural steel building elements) and old automobile tires--the swing hanging from the beam which invites the viewer to interact with the piece and adds a kinetic element.
