City and County Building

Robert K. Fuller
1932

Built during the great Depression, this grand building was meant to convey public importance. The temple front with a large pediment and Corinthian columns as well as the flanking wings with colonnades of Ionic columns are reminiscent of many important buildings, even St. Peter's in Rome. The elegant tower is visible from many points of the city.
