Don Quixote

The emaciated visionary, carrying a broken lance, rides a weary Rosinante, with head down and tail between his legs. (See below for Jennewein's Sancho Panza.)
 
 
Huntington conveys Don Quixote's endless quest, especially through his face. Beetlebrowed with deep-set eyes, he stares ahead. But why does he have such large ears?
