Wimbish House (Atlanta Woman's Club)

Walter T. Downing
1898

Peachtree Street, a major thoroughfare in Atlanta and site of numerous skyscrapers, still has this historic mansion surviving from the Victorian era. (It was in the process of restoration when I took these photographs in 2002.) It vaguely resembles a French chateau, with the steep roof and turrets.
