Like Furness's Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, this library is an amalgam of historicist references, still medieval but more romanesque than Gothic. The exterior is brick and stone with terra cotta panels. The magnificent tower has crenelations and gargoyles inhabit the upper reaches of the north end. (See details below.) | ||
