Located at one of the (north) entrances to Museumpark and near both the Chabot Museum and the Netherlands Architecture Institute, this modern villa has a basement with a studio, a first floor of living space with continuous ribbon windows along the facade, and a second floor with bedrooms. There is also a roof terrace. This house was designed for Albertus Sonneveld, one of the directors of the Van Nelle factory, a commercial work also by van der Vlugt, and much praised by le Corbusier. This villa has some parallels with the works of Le Corbusier. (See, for example, his Villa Savoye.) | ||
