Stresemannstrasse Residential Building

Zaha Hadid
1993

Early building by the late Pritzker-winning woman architect

This, with the Vitra Fire Station, was the Iraqi-British architect's first realised project. With slanted and angled walls, this eight-storey housing development is clad in bronze. It was commissioned under the Internationale Bauausstellung 87 (IBA), which saw the construction of many residential buildings in Berlin.
