Richardson RomanesqueThis late nineteenth century building is influenced by the very popular style introduced by Henry Hobson Richardson. See, for example, his Cheney Block in Hartford, Connecticut, a store and office building with superimposed arcades. Unlike Richardson who often used contrasting masonry, here the rusticated stone is the same tonality. |
