View of the exterior along Houston StreetThis downtown branch of the High Museum of Art is located in a narrow building as part of the Georgia-Pacific Center. Although one can exit at the Houston Street side, the entrance is through the lobby of the Georgia-Pacific skyscraper. A ramp descends to the musuem space, used for displaying art from the permanent collection as well as traveling exhibits. | ||
Views of the descending rampAccording to Isabelle Gournay, the interior is "clad with an exotic wood veneer of African anigree, remarkable for its fine grain and golden tone" (38). |
