Release history

January 2025: Interface tweaks.
September 2022: A lot of incremental (unreported) updates. Most significant change is ability to produce map plots for comparisons across geography.
September 2020: Improved support for external data files (loading text files, etc.)
March 24, 2020: Added scale information to histograms (still needs improvement)
March 9, 2020: Some compatibility improvements; added option to show boxplot outlier separately, to move columns left/right, and to copy/paste data to Excel.
February 2020: I developed this page for the data analysis portion of Bluffton's Learning in Community class. It is intended to provide a simple way to visualize data, with (I hope) fewer hurdles/barriers than Excel and most statistical software.

  • Thanks to jQuery UI Touch Punch for allowing me to add support for touch-screen mobile devices. I was a little ticked off when my variable-selection interface—which worked so nicely on my laptop—was useless on my phone; this simple plug-in fixed that.
  • The map data came from a variety of sources:

TODO: Add option to copy/paste to R.
Granularity detection for scatterplots
Transformations (compute new columns from existing data).
Keep last 5 (or so) deleted plots in a "trash can" for retrieval.
Better labeling of plot axes.
Regression curves for scatterplots.
Allow segmentation of histograms.
Perform basic statistical tests.
Generate random data with various distributions (or resampling).
Quantile plots and distribution fitting.
And other things as time/imagination allows ...
