By training I am a physical organic chemist, with a strong interest in main-group chemistry, the chemistry of the nonmetals. I am particularly interested in reactivity and mechanism, and in unusual bonding patterns within molecules. I am also interested in the history and philosophy of chemistry.
These days, though, I am primarily interested and involved with chemical pedagogy.
Bluffton University students (or prospective students) interested in a research project in any of these areas should contact me. See my current projects.
