Changing light bulbs

A (thank God!) not always typical student procedure:
I saw that the light bulb was burnt out. Then I went out the back door and got into the car. Then I drove to K-Mart. Then I got out of the car and went into the store and got a shopping basket and then I went to Aisle 8 and looked in the light bulb section. After that I picked out a 75-watt light bulb and put it into my shopping basket and went to the checkout counter and paid for the light bulb and then I went back to my car and got in. Then I drove home. Then I got out of my car and went through the door and got a stepstool. After that I unscrewed the old light bulb and threw it away and unwrapped the new light bulb. Finally, I screwed in the new light bulb.

The essential components of the procedure:
The light bulb was burnt out. I bought a new 75-watt light bulb and replaced the old one.

What you would see in the scientific literature:
The burnt-out light bulb was replaced.
