Chemistry Themes for Win95/98 designed by Dan Berger bergerd@bluffton.edu ------------------------------------------------------------------ This Windows theme may be freely distributed in its original form. Distribution must include this text file. The icons used in these themes are taken from themes distributed with MicroSoft Windows and are copyright by Microsoft. They may not be used by anyone who does not have a license for Windows Themes (part of the Plus! package for Win95; included in Win98 and later versions). "chemthem.exe" was generated from a ZIP archive using PowerArchiver version 6.11.0 (http://www.powerarchiver.com). The original archive is available upon request to Dan Berger, bergerd@bluffton.edu. "msisaver.exe" is freeware, copyright by Molecular Simulations, Inc, now part of Accelrys (http://www.accelrys.com/about/msi.html). According to the user agreement it may be freely distributed as long as no charge is made for the file. "chemistry wallpaper.bmp" copyright (c) 1999 by Daniel Berger. It was generated using Advanced Chemistry Development's freeware program "Chem3D" (http://www.acdlabs.com) and may be freely distributed as long as no charge is made for the file. "chemistry wallpaper 1.bmp" copyright (c) 2001 by Daniel Berger. It was generated using the freeware program "RasWin" (http://www.umass.edu/microbio/rasmol/) from a PDB file available on the internet. It may be freely distributed as long as no charge is made for the file. ------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Extract or download "chemthem.exe" to a convenient directory. 2. Run "chemthem.exe." This will install all icons and wallpapers into the c:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes directory. When it is finished, it will automatically install the MSI screen saver, which is part of the themes. 3. Open the "Desktop Themes" function from the Windows Control Panel and apply the Chemistry or Chemistry1 theme. They have the same icons, but -- "Chemistry" has wallpaper with chinchonine on a white background. -- "Chemistry1" has wallpaper with a DNA fragment on a black background. The window color schemes are also different. 4. The MSI screen saver comes preloaded with several molecular structure files in MOL format. It can use any MOL-format structure, so you can generate new molecules for use in the screen saver by creating or converting structure files to MOL format. That's it! Enjoy.
