DESTROYED BY DASTARDLY TERRORISTS
SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

Seven buildings comprise this complex, the most impressive being the twin towers, with nine million square feet of office space. The 110-story towers are 1353 feet high, for a time the highest skyscrapers in the world, now surpassed by the Sears Tower (the second highest) and the Petrona Towers in Kuala Lumpur.

For additional views of the plaza, see Rosati's Ideogram, a sculpture in the plaza.

These wonderful images of the skyline of New York City, as it WAS, were photographed by my friend Bob Byrne. He owns the copyright and should be contacted directly if you are interested in the use of his photographs: Bob Byrne.
