This private club building illustrates a number of characteristics of the Queen Anne style, a style popular in the United States from the 1870s until the turn of the century. The facades often featured projecting oriels (here over the main entrance), odd rooflines, tall multiple chimneys (here two), turrets (often with bell roofs [as here]), and rich textural surfaces--with cut and molded brick, terra cotta plaques, or ornamental plaster.
