This museum, focussed on pop music, was commissioned by software billionaire Paul G. Allen and is dedicated to Jimi Hendrix. This large sculptural building (140,000-square-feet), with an undulating form evocative of music, is made up of five different sections, each colored differently, from the pastel blue auto paint section, to the intense red of another section. Other "colors" are metallic finishes--gold, silver, and a day glo purple. This building seems more confusing than most of Gehry's buildings and I totally missed the grand entrance! See this image from Wikipedia of the grand entrance. | ||
