The front (east) facadeThis four-story Victorian Gothic city hall with a fantasy skyline has elaborate carved ornament with emphasis on the corners. The northeast corner rises higher with a dominant clock tower. This massive granite building, located on capitol square adjacent to Jefferson's Capitol Building, is now superceded by the "new" city hall. The Detroit architect Elijah E. Myers designed several state capitol buildings. | ||
