This French colonial hotel, built at the turn of the century as one of the finest hotels in Indochina, is now a refurbished five-star hotel. Its guest list features such notables from Charlie Chaplin, Queen Noor of Jordan, John Denver, and Graham Greene (while writing The Quiet American during his war correspondent days) to Jane Fonda and even Ho Chi Minh. Michael Caine stayed there while filming The Quiet American and John McCain was a guest when he returned for his reconciliation with Vietnam. Today the government uses it as the official hotel for visiting dignitaries. | ||
