Church of San Martín

Romanesque

Note that some of these images were added in 2005, after a second trip in the winter to Spain. (The gloomier images were photographed then.)

View of the long side with extended porch

The capitals of the columns on the porch are typical of much Romanesque art with vegetal motifs and fabulous animals. Two columns share the same capital. Engaged double columns also flank the blind arcades of the apse.

The front facade from an angle and the entrance portal

The main entrance has only this one portal with simple sculptural figures flanking the entrance high up on the jambs.
