A staircase tower

Instead of a spiral staircase in the tower, there is standard straight flight of stairs; these look out onto semi-circular light wells.
 

Flooded with light--looking down; looking up

Instead of the Scottish baronial towers with thick stone walls and small windows, these towers are walls of glass.
