	Views of the front and oblique views of the front below Located on a somewhat cramped site, this glass and limestone museum, dedicated to exhibiting cutting edge art, is itself cutting-edge. Sometimes defined as deconstructivist, the museum, in spite of its sleek exterior of aluminum cladding and ribbon windows (a la International style), also has unusual angled windows both on the front and street (Chestnut Street) side. The corner column also owes its allegiance to Le Corbusier. The entrance is around the corner on the Chestnut Street side

		Patio reception area on second floor level While the ICA gained a reputation for showing avant-garde artists (since its founding in 1963, it exhibited the first museum shows of Andy Warhol, Laurie Anderson, Agnes Martin, David Salle, and Robert Indiana), the patio space is also rented for special parties and receptions for general audiences.
