An elegant department storeDesigned somewhat later than his Land Title Building in Philadelphia, this survivor of another era has passed from being Wanamaker family store, to a Lord & Taylor and now to a Macy's. Like the Land Title Building, it is a simple block with the traditional early skyscraper format: a tripartite structure with dominant base and top and a simple repetitive shaft. The facade is granite and limestone. |
