The so-called "silver chisel"This skyscraper, shaped like a prism, seems akin to this architect's Citicorp Center, completed in 1978. Both violate the International style tenet of the flat roof and opt for a dramatic skyline identity. At 31 stories, it is the fifth tallest building in Cleveland and its unusual roof lines can be seen from various vantage points throughout the city. | ||
Just as the top varies from the International style cigar-box on end, so too the base has a five-story garden atrium. The photograph below, right, shows the edge of the Tower at Erieview by Harrison and Abramovitz, a typical International style tower. | ||
