Minoru Yamasaki
1966

The front of the building and the courtyard

This twenty one story tubular skyscraper is the sixth tallest building in Buffalo. Clad in white marble, the building occupies the entire block and faces on the front a plaza.

The base and the shaft

Although the shaft appears to be pure international style, the base, with its arcades, shows why Yamasaki (with Edward Durell Stone) is sometimes described as a practitioner of "romanticized" or "decorated" international style.
