Three Residential Towers

Klunder Architecten
1989

The three skyscrapers on the Boompjes peninsula (a narrow spit of land in the city south of the central city) are individually named: Clipper, Schoener {schooner) and Galjoen (galleon), types of Dutch ships which sailed the world. Farther east on the Boompjes is the office building by Wim Gerhard Quist. These residential skyscrapers are 68 meters tall and distinguished beautifully at night by red, yellow or blue neon running up the center of the shaft. See this night image from a commercial website [http://www.boompjesaandemaas.nl/]. The cables of the suspension bridge, Erasmus Bridge, are visible in front of the buildings.
