The North CrossUnlike the Muiredach Cross and the West cross, the billets or volutes are set at the center of the inside of the ring rather than at the angles of the intersection. The shaft was not ornamented except for the incised line defining the edge of the shaft. The west side of the cross head depicts a simplified crucifixion scene with the spearbearer and spongebearer on each side. The east side of the cross has a central medallion with spiral bosses. | ||
