The focus of the south end of the plaza is the large South Platform on which stand two smaller structures. The broad stairway has been restored and the carved stelae incorporated into its base are also copies (with the originals moved for preservation to indoor museums). | ||
Stele at west end of baseThese carvings presumably show captives since the figures have their hands tied behind their backs. Their rich costumes identify them as kings or priests. Glyphs tell more of their story. | ||
