Distant views from the southwestClosing off the north end of the Grand Plaza, the North Platform is a more imposing and complex structure than the South Platform. Many structures and patios with a complicated imterconnecting access occupy this acropolis. It was remodelled over the centuries to respond to differing needs.
The remains of two rows of six columns (presumably supporting a portico) are at the top of the grand stairway and a number of structures, many of Mixtec origins, occupy this high platform. (I did not make the ascent on my visit but will do so when I return. Thus the images are only of views from below.)
