| This huge central co-generation facility supplies all the energy needs for the entire UCLA campus and reduces air pollution as well. Because the site is located in the central campus, the building was designed to coordinate with the predominantly brick structures in its vicinity. (See, for example, the MacDonald Medical Research Laboratories.) Decorative brickwork and metal screens (on the upper level) partly conceal the generators and cooling towers of the facility. | ||
