| This sculpture of tools used in the uphostery trade was commissioned by the children of the Vitra company founder, Willi Fehlbaum, for his seventieth birthday. Hammer, pliers, and screwdriver--these apparently banal objects (like clothespins, shuttlecocks, and three-way plugs, etc) are typical of the subjects these sculptors depict, but here they seem singularly appropriate for this campus/factory site. | ||
